SUNY Maritime emphasizes combining classroom learning with real-world experience through internships and research to ensure students get the best of both worlds. A small graduate program means students get to know their faculty and have the time and attention they need to develop specialties and personal interests in their field of study. The 55-acre campus is bordered by the Long Island Sound and the East River, 15 miles from midtown Manhattan (NYC). The College’s graduate programs position students well to advance in their careers and become leaders in their fields. The international transportation management program may be completed online or on campus and offers certificates in supply chain management and international ship chartering.

M.S. in International Transportation Management
The Master of Science in International Transportation Management (ITM) program provides a high quality and competitive graduate education for individuals who are pursuing careers in international business with a special emphasis on international trade, logistics and transportation. The program is a 34 credit curriculum with 5 tracks and the option of 2 certificates and/or a U.S. Coast Guard Deck License. Classes are available both on campus and online.

• Global Transportation Security
• International Logistics
• Marine Insurance
• Research in International Logistics and Shipping
Advanced Certificate in Supply Chain Management
Job growth in supply chain management has been steadily rising for a decade. For 21 credit hours (stand-alone), or an additional 6 credit hours in conjunction with the International Transportation Management program (for a total of 40 credit hours), you can earn your certificate and increase employer appeal in a rapidly expanding industry.
International Charter Parties
In conjunction with the Association of Ship Brokers and Agents (ASBA), SUNY Maritime offers certification in International Ship Chartering for 6 credit hours (stand-alone) or within the 34-credit International Transportation Management graduate program. As a widely-respected industry standard, the ASBA Charter Parties certificate is a significant advantage for students pursuing brokerage careers.
U.S. Coast Guard License
In addition to the standard curriculum, you may pursue a U.S. Coast Guard deck license. Licensure creates the opportunity for a graduate to work on a marine vessel as a third mate. To earn a license, you must be an on-campus student and belong to the regiment of cadets.
